SC advises PTI to return to National Assembly during MNA resignation case

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Judge Umar Ata Bandial on On Thursday, the PTI MNA was advised to return to the National Assembly (NA) by withdrawing its resignation letter.

He said PTI shouldn’t act in haste, and the court offered him another opportunity to review his decision.

After making its remarks, the CJP adjourned the case indefinitely.

The Supreme Court heard the appeal filed by PTI against Islamabad High Court decision about “partial” approval of resignations allegedly from his 123 MNA.

PTI wants everyone of 123 resignations have been declared approved. In his original petition before the IHC, he sought an injunction against NA Speaker Raja Perwaiz Ashraf decision approve resignations after an in-person MNA audience—what PTI called a “partial” approval of resignations.

After the IHC rejected the PTI petition earlier this week, party appealed this decision to a higher court, which considered the appeal on Thursday.

During the CJP Bandial hearing, instructing PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry to receive new instructions from the party, saying that the verdict of supreme court in Adoption of phase- resignation visa final how the speaker enjoyed the constitutional right to accept resignation.

CJP also said it’s hard to get involved with in work of the Speaker and Judge Minalla delivered the verdict after careful consideration.
