Republican Party Representative Newhouse, who voted to impeach Trump, won Washington primary, NBC News projects

Republican Party Representative Dan Newhouse who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump last year for his role in January 6 attack on US Capitol, yes won his primary in Washington, NBC News projects.

Newhouse Advanced out of primaries on tuesday in Washington’s 4th congressional district, defeating Trump-backed Republican nominee Lauren Culp.

Four-term acting will face democrat Doug White, who also advances, NBC News projects, in area rated as a solid Republican this fall. In the open nonpartisan primary in the Washington state system2, the top candidates, regardless of party is approaching the November elections.

Newhouse and nine other House Republicans vote to impeach Trump in January 2021, indictment against him with “incitement of insurrection” for his role in violent crowd riot of his supporters. It was the most two-way vote on presidential impeachment in history, doubling the top five Democrats who voted to impeach Bill Clinton in 1998.

Like other impeachers, Newhouse out- picked up Trump opponent. He brought in about $1.6 million, while Culp raised $310,000 in the middle of last month.

Representatives Peter Meyer, Michigan State, and Jaime Herrera Beutler, Washington State, two others who voted to impeach also faced major contenders for Trump’s support on Tuesday in contests which marked test of in former influence of the president in Republican elections. Meyer was defeated by John Gibbs, former Trump administration official.

Rep. Liz Cheney, of Wyoming, highestfrom Republicans to support impeachment and vice chairman of House committee investigating riots faces her primary on August 16th.
