Punjab likely to extend winter vacations

LAHORE: Punjab government considering extending winter break for one more a week since mercury fell down in provinces.

According to sources, winter holidays for schools most likely extended for one more week (from 9 to 15 January) on in demand of in parents over cold weather, the sources said.

It can be noted that the provincial government of Punjab has already extended winter vacation for a week on orders of Lahore High Court due to smog.

According to the notice issued by the Specialized Health Department of Punjab, winter holidays in medical and nursing colleges of the province was extended until January 8th.

The holidays used to be over on January 2. The notice went on to say that clinical students working on rotations will continue to fulfill their duties in hospitals.

Previously on On December 27, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the extension of the winter break for one more week against the backdrop of a growing threat of smog. The orders were accepted by the LHC during the hearing of the relocated petitions. for Finding a cure for smog issue.
