PTA suspends blocking of mobile devices during coronavirus pandemic

ISLAMABAD: In view of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and to ensure social distancing, all GSMA legitimate gadget IMEIs seen on mobile networks however currently not signed up with PTA have actually been given an extra 30 days for registration of their mobile devices.

The blocking of such mobile devices will continue from April,19 based on their due dates and will be interacted through SMS.

According to guidelines, all mobile devices being linked to regional networks utilizing regional SIM go through registration within 60 days from first usage of gadget on regional mobile networks in Pakistan. Due to amazing scenarios, blocking of non- signed up gadget IMEIs, which were to be obstructed in between March, 18 to April, 18, 2020, will now start from April, 19 as per due date of each gadget.
