Prime Minister Shehbaz granted indefinite release in The Case of the Ramzan Sugar Mills

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Monday approved plea of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for permanent exemption from participation in a court session in Case Ramzan sugar factories.

Responsible Judge Asad Ali Awan announced his decision which was reserved over in plea in previous hearing.

Shehbaz Sharif in his statement argued that he could not stand trial as prime minister of Pakistan. He sought court orders for nomination of lawyers in a business. The court adjourned further consideration of Case 05 July.

Court also called lawyers in in next hearing for arguments over acquittals of accused.

in plea filed through his lawyer, he claimed to have saved billions of rupees of in public in government scheme. He said that he was neither a shareholder nor director of sugar factory like already transferred his property to his children.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) failed to prove allegations of corruption against him, he argued, asking the court to acquit him in a business.

NAB link is unfounded and founded on unscrupulous intentions as well as on political motives, he claimed.
