Prime Minister announces Rs 3 million for flood relief workers of Balochistan


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced 3 million rupees for flood relief workers in Kachi area of Balochistan.

Premiere made in announcement during his appeal to the media after reviewing rehabilitation efforts in in flood-hit Bibi Nani Bridge of provinces.

During his speech, he directed Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and secretary of National Highway Administration (NHA) for give in prize money deserving workers.

He also strictly instructed them to distribute amount on merit basis.

Shehbaz added that the leader minister It has also announced prize money of 2 million rupees for workers.

He said: “A total prize money of 5 million rupees will be distributed among hardworking rescuers who day and night they worked on the restoration of the bridge.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of workers who worked tirelessly to restore traffic on Bibi Nani Bridge, in cacchi area of province, within eight hours.

“I want tell the nation that when disaster strikes the whole nation,” he said.

Shahbaz considers rehabilitation work

Prime Minister Shahbaz arrived in Quetta for one day visit earlier today to review relief activities in in flood-hit areas of provinces.

He also visited Kachchi area of province in review rehabilitation work on in flood- damaged road and rail infrastructure.

Prime Minister Shehbaz received a detailed briefing from NHA Chairman Khurram Agha. on in flood-damaged roads in Balochistan and ongoing rehabilitation work on his way to connecting bridges in Bridge of Bibi Nani and Pinjara.

It is appropriate to note that the Pinjara bridge was completely washed away by the flood.

During his previous visit to the province, the Prime Minister announced grant of 10 billion rupees for Balochistan flood victims.

He had also turned to well-off people to rise for the holiday and participate in relief efforts.

Balochistan has been hit hard by eight monsoon seasons. in scale and severity. He dared relatives and friends of survivors, their livestock, homes and crops.

Provincial Disaster Management Director General Saleh Nasar said the incessant heavy rains, uncontrollable waves of water and seething streams from the hills have already claimed about 250 lives with thousands of wounded and displaced persons.

The province is almost carved off from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh due to collapse of bridges on Quetta-Job-Dana Sar-Dera Ismail Khan Road, Quetta-Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan Road, Quetta-Khuzdar-Karachi and Quetta-Sibi-Jakaboad Road.
