Premiere of the RS emblem in the 718 family shows credentials
Porsche will give the first RS emblem to the 718 family and the business card with which the new Cayman presents itself brings fewer subscribers 23.6 seconds on a lap of the Nurburgring-Nordschleife.
This was the difference that the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS made in relation to its smaller brother in the range, the GT4, without RS, in the final tests on the German circuit.
Development pilot and brand ambassador, Jorg Bergmeister, performed a 20,832 meter lap at the Nordschleife and m 7m09.300s and, in the shortest lap of 20.6 km, which was the reference, the RS did 7m04.511s – where it took 23.6 seconds off the time of the 718 Cayman GT4.
“The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is a no-compromise driving machine. It looks as agile as a kart on mountain roads and yet impressively stable and balanced on the circuit. Otherwise, a lap time like this would not be possible,” stated Bergmeister.
The car tested at Nordschleife was equipped with a competition seat for driver protection and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires R – which will be available as an option. The new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS will make its world debut next November.
