police arrested total of Seven people after “number of incidents of violence” and reports of stabbing near a fair in south London common.

Armed police attacked Blackheath Common on tuesday evening on the number of attacks and reports of stab wounds.

Seven people were arrested on suspicion of possession of en offensive weapons and “related crimes”.

Footage on social media shows dozens of young people charging through the fair, but there were no casualties found for stabbing, police said.

Fair organizers denied reports of acid attack on social media as false.

Blackheath Bank holiday fair organizer Joe Noyce said: “I would like thank the police for their fast action in case with large group of youth seeking cause disruption and turmoil in This area of Blackheath Common.

“How family business ourselves, we want to ensure Families who come to our fair feel safe, so we have added security on site and are grateful to the police for the reassurance. of additional patrols in local area.

Statement added: “Social media rumors of knife wounds or use of acid at the fair is false and no one required first help on the spot team”.

A police spokesman said: “The police are with reports of antisocial behavior and of attacks in Greenwich Park.

They are added: “Seven people were arrested on suspicion of possession of en offensive weapons and related offences.

The officers put in place a Section 60 order by Wednesday 5:00 pm, which gives officers additional authority to search.

Witness Sean Ash who went to Common to take it children to the fair, said there were hundreds of children on green space and scenes of disorder.

“When I arrived we saw a police van and there were hundreds of young people are all between fifteen and sixteen years old,” he told The Standard.

“My son was in in back seat, and he said, “They beat the police.” A police helicopter has arrived over upstairs, they are still there.”

Leader of Greenwich Council said it knows of unrest and issued an “urgent appeal” to parents in area to contact with their children if they are not know where they were.

“If your child in #blackheath area – or you don’t know where they are – please contact urgently. Make sure they are coming home ASAP,” Dan Thorpe said.

The organizers announced additional safety measures will in place when the fair opens at 13:00 on Wednesday including; additional security personnel reinforced safety checks on the entrances and teenagers will need be with adult to gain access.
