PML-N former legislators join PTI

ISLAMABAD: two former Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from South Punjab region have joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday.

According to the details, former PML-N MNA Pir Iqbal Shah and former MPA Pir Amir Shah announced joining PTI after meeting with in former prime minister Imran Khan at Bani Gala.

During the meeting former PML-N deputies discussed the general political situation in the country and the worst economic crisis with Imran Khan.

Pir Iqbal Shah and Pir Amir Shah expressed their full confidence in leadership of Imran Khan.

Pir Iqbal Shah, former MNA defeated Jahangir Tarin son Ali Tarin in by-election in 2018.

Abdul Rehman Kanju, State minister in Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet was failed convince the estranged PML-N leaders not to abandon the party, the sources said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) faced response from within party over plan award party tickets to dissident PTI MPA in Punjab Assembly who were deprived of their place for voting for Hamza Shahbaz during elections for chief of Punjab minister.

“PML-N has faced harsh reaction from local party leaders and therefore some of they will participate in the elections as independent candidates,” the sources said.
