PM unveils Rs 1,800 billion mega-stake in Kissan

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced Kissan mega package, which will provide subsidized loans to farmers worth 1800 billion rupees.

The prime minister said to help the farmers, coalition government will provide a subsidy of over ten billion rupees to give up off mark-up payment on loans used by farmers of flood affected areas.

The prime minister said it’s mega package also includes loans worth 50 billion rupees for youth of rural areas that want to invest in agriculture sector. To this end government will provide 6.4 billion rupees as a subsidy on mark-up of loans.

This was stated by the prime minister after successful negotiations with fertilizer manufacturers, new price of dap was fixed up to 11,250 rupees per bag. To this end government negotiated a subsidy of 2500 rupees per bag with fertilizer manufacturers.

He said under it package five billion rupees have been set aside to provide a subsidy on mark-up of loans to be given to landless peasants of in flood affected areas. He said 1.2 million bags of certified seeds will be provided to farmers of flood-hit areas.

PM says small and medium enterprises will be streamlined for investments in Agricultural sector. SMEs are interested in investments in this sector will be able to receive loans on preferential rates and for we have this goal fixed 6.4 billion rupees. The Prime Minister announced the preservation in view increased prices of new tractors, import of used tractors also was allowed and farmers can now import second manual tractors up up to five years of the date of their manufacture. Subsidy on in duty of five-year old tractor will be 50 percent while duty on three-year the old tractor will be 36 percent. He said duty was reduce from 35 percent up to 15 percent to attract new entrepreneurs in field of tractor production.

Shehbaz Sharif also announced import of five hundred thousand tons of Urea. He said import of two hundred thousand tons of Urea has been completed and the rest will be completed soon. He said for For this purpose, we provided a subsidy of 30 billion rupees.

The prime minister also said that he was allowed to import 2.6 million tons. of wheat out of which the one million tons already reached Pakistan, and the remaining 1.6 million tons will be purchased to prevent of a lack of of this product in country.

As for relief in electricity bills for farmers, Shehbaz Sharif said that there are about 300,000 agricultural tube wells. in country, and government planned to solarize these tube wells for which will be given a large subsidy. He said flat rate of Rs 13 per item charged on agricultural tubular wells.
