PEMRA bans BOL news transmission channel

ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Monday decided to take both at once BOL News as well as BOL Entertainment TV channels off in air for without receiving “permission from the internal affairs authorities.”

decision to effect was adopted at its 174th meeting, chaired by over Pemra Chairman Muhammad Salim Beig, according to official statement.

The meeting was informed that licenses of M/s Labbaik were canceled by Pemra in its 131st meeting of 2017 for not obtain security clearance from the Ministry of Interior. However, the channels continued to broadcast after challenging the PEMRA order. in The Supreme Court of Sindh, which ordered of happening in 2021.

He noted that Pemra’s lawyer made it clear so that both channels would not be allowed on air if the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not give security clearance to M/s Labbaik.
