Pakistan seeks climate justice, no damage, says Bilawal – Newspaper

NEW YORK: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said so. on Friday Pakistan searched for realistic justice for natural disasters caused by climate change are facing rather than reparations.

“We are not actively seeking compensation for climate change,” he told reporters on news conference at UN headquarters in New York. “Not one has been successful so far in receiving reparations. This is a high question. We are looking for a realistic climate justice”.

Foreign minister also transferred to the UN secretary generallast offer of climate change, countries trading them debt for climate-friendly policies.

According to a UNDP report distributed media on Friday suggested that cashStranded Pakistan should restructure its debt to avoid default, Mr Bhutto-Zardari explained that Pakistan did not seek restructuring of his debts as best he could cause some suggest that the country is about to default. “Let me do it clear. We are far from default,” he said.

Regarding the recent floods, he said Pakistan was the eighth most vulnerable country to climate change. with initial estimates indicated losses in excess of 30 billion dollars. He also stressed the governmentmeasures in a business with it’s a disaster despite challenges.

Appreciating the solidarity and support extended USA for in flood survivors, i.e. minister reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attaches to its longstanding ties with The United States and its commitment to strengthen these bilateral relations. He also stated that Pakistan would continue work with in international community achieve peace, development and stability in Afghanistan.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the cause of peace, he spoke of rampant discrimination and persecution of Muslims in India driven by violent extremist ideology of Hindutva, it was of great anxiety.

He said in occupied Kashmir, India did demographic changes and the disenfranchisement of Muslims through the redistribution of constituencies.

He named on India will abolish illegal and unilateral steps of August 5, 2019 and expressed the hope that favorable conditions will be created for peace and stability in in region.
