Pakistan rejects Indian propaganda on abuse of Kartarpur Corridor

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday categorically rejected “malicious Indian propaganda against alleged use of Kartarpur Corridor for business meetings.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said in a statement that “it is clear that this mixture is part of of Deliberate slander of India campaign seeking to undermine Pakistan’s historic initiative of opening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor for Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world world”.

He claimed that there was nothing new about India’s desperate attempt to slander the corridor of peace and divert the world’s attention from the country’s serious injustice towards its own minorities, especially Muslims, who aimed with impunity for “Hindu fanatics” in complete disregard of all principles of law and justice.

The representative said that Pakistan had recently hosted over 2000 Sikh pilgrims from India alone who were here to participate in the annual Baisakhi festival, which will be held from April 12 to 21, 2022.

Asim Iftikhar advised New Delhi to refrain from “false slanderous on Kartarpur Corridor, which was gift government of Pakistan for the Sikh community instead focus on taking meaningful steps effectively protect their own religious minorities and ensure in safety of their lives and places of worship.
