Efforts to Resolve Tax Cases
The Minister added that in order to stop all the circulating disputes related to old tax cases, a bill has been prepared, based essentially on the approval of a simplified mandatory tax such as the Law on the Development of Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises, and covers 60% of the old cases, and there are another scenario for the 40% tax regime.
The Minister indicated that dispute resolution committees are doing their best to resolve all open and old tax cases. The Minister explained that until February last year, requests to terminate tax disputes were submitted to the courts, tax appeal commissions and commissions for consideration of complaints between the tax authorities and financiers or taxpayers arising from the application of the provisions of tax legislation that are applied by the tax authorities, regardless of the case. , in which the lawsuit or appeal is located, indicating that the tax appeal boards have succeeded in establishing many legal principles that help facilitate the resolution of tax disputes and protect the rights of each party under the law, without compromising the confidentiality of tax data for financiers.
The minister said: “We are working to approve a tax policy that strikes a balance between the rights of the state treasury, financiers and taxpayers, as well as to establish tax appeal committees, stabilize the tax positions of financiers and reduce the volume of appeals to appeal committees, in a way that guarantees a reduction in the review period. dispute and achieving justice. taxes in a way that helps lay the foundations for governance, transparency, fairness and standardization for a more developed, stimulating and attractive tax system.”
