Law also prohibits New York City employers from discriminating against workers for weed use outside of work although this provision may not apply to all government employees, such as law enforcement officers.

“All existing patrol procedures regarding its prohibition, as well as drug screening procedures remain in effect. Participants are reminded to be in uniform for duty generally times”, the memo says.

Voters in New Jersey approves constitutional amendment to allow recreational sale of cannabis people 21 years and older in November 2020. Retail Sales shops are set to begin April 21.
