Northern Ireland weather warning issued by the Meteorological Bureau

The meteorological office published weather warning which will hit regions across the UK, including most of Northern Ireland.

BUT yellow warning is an in place from 13:00 on Monday 16 May and will remain as a warning until approximately 22:00.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop on Monday, noon brought “some disruptions to the journey in places,” was warned.

What to expect

  • Exist good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading for a longer trip times on car and bus;
  • Train delays possible;
  • Some are short term loss of power and other services probably;
  • BUT chance of some kind of flood of homes and businesses or some damage to multiple buildings or structures from lightning strikes.

warning comes after the weekend of a sharp increase in temperature throughout region, with highs of 18С recorded in some areas on Saturday and Sunday.

Northern Ireland weather will remain unresolved on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with groups of occasional heavy rain or downpours spreading to the northeast, but also some are dry bright periods in between. Will also fresh in times.
