A 9-year- the old boy is mortally wounded in Skokie was identified early Saturday, officials said. Another boy, aged 6, was also fired, but survived.

Jeremy Ellis was found when the police arrived of “shots” and found two guys shot the apartment building in block 4700 of the main street just after midnight Saturday, according to Cook County Police and Forensics office.

Life saving activities have been carried out for Jeremiah, of 2000 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, bye fire paramedics of the department arrived, and he was taken to the nearest hospital, where he was ascertained dead- said the police.

A 6-year-old boy who received a stab wound also taken to the hospital, but survived.

The Northern Region Serious Crimes Task Force investigated the shooting, but Skokie police asked anyone with information contact investigators at 847-982-5900 or the 24-hour Skokie Crime Tip at 847-933-8477.
