NDMA Chair thanks OCHA for emergency assistance flood affects

Newly appointed head of Office for UN Office in Pakistan for Coordination of Humanitarian issues Carlos Geha called on NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik in Islamabad today (Thursday).

The Chairman of the NDMA welcomed Carlos Geh and briefed him of continuous lead work in related areas, especially aimed at humanitarian aid in flood affected areas.

Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening the common vision of meeting urgent human security benchmarks related to climate change, especially in remote areas and agreed on more technology managed communication for maximum impact coverage of disaster mitigation and response in dangerous zones.

Lieutenant General Inam Hyder explained the context of Potential added value of NDMA in creating an authentic database for planning and development of material goals of OCHA Pakistan.

He thanked OCHA for supporting Government of Pakistan and NDMA in response coordination and emergency assistance population affected by the 2022 monsoon floods

The head of OCHA expressed his readiness to explore the possibilities of attracting additional funds during recovery and rehabilitation.
