MotoGP: Honda pledges to stay for another five years

Japanese team will line up in 2021 with Marc Márquez and Pol Espargaró

Honda’s official MotoGP team is committed to staying in the premier category of speed motorcycling for another five seasons: from 2022 to 2026.

“I am very happy to have renewed the contract ”, referred Honda’s general director, Noriaki Abe, as Lusa writes.

Honda has participated in the World Championship since 1959 and holds the record for 25 world titles in the premier class.

In 2020, the Japanese brand champion in title at the start of the season, lost its world champion riders right at the start of the championship.

Spanish MotoGP six-time world champion Marc Márquez is still recovering from his right arm injury and will do this season double with his compatriot Pol Espargaró.
