Microsoft plans to implement AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) on Xbox Series X and S.
That’s what a company spokesperson told IGN. FidelityFX Super Resolution is a counterpart to Nvidia’s DLSS technology and is a way to upscale the resolution of games through different algorithms. That can also save hardware capacity and therefore allow for higher frame rates.FSR is according to AMD also aims to make developing games for different generations of platforms easier. Although the technology will officially be available on June 22 for AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, it is already available on Xbox Series X and S development kits.
“Soon” Microsoft will reveal more details.
