“We work closely with Engineering Development Council. In spite of global logistical crises, especially in China after Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions, factory equipment arrived in Pakistan. We work day and night to make it work in in current fiscal year”, general manager said business recorder.

“We want to provide clients in Pakistan with several options as well as features in our vehicles,” he added.
Ahmed said safety features in locally assembled vehicles were “significantly weak”, adding that MG Motors global standards for it’s CKD models without any “surcharges”.

AT general manager also called for Pakistan to take advantage of its geographical position in access automobile markets in Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.
“We’re not a very attractive local market for global auto players but we can certainly become vehicleexporting country,” he said.
AT automobile industry should stop looking away government for handouts, Ahmed said, adding that the industry “already overprotective.”
“The only sustainable, long-term solution to recurring crises faced through auto industry is export of made-in-Pakistan vehicles”, he commented.
Ahmed said he would only ask government stimulate electrical vehicles how it was new avenue and support will have a multiplier effect.
