Liz Truss rebuked for “cheap” ridicule of speculation after criticism media | conservative leadership

Liz Truss got a rebuke for be “cheap” during latest Harassment of Tory leaders after she criticized media several times.

Foreign secretary accused “some of in media” of trying to ‘speak our country down” during event in Darlington and also accused journalists of wording of questions in “left way”.

Tom Newton Dunn, TalkTV anchor who presided over the event asked a South West Norfolk MP about her plans to help people with rising energy bills using tax cuts when he mentioned “your handouts” in an attempt to ask a question.

Truss interrupted him by replying, “This is not a prank, Tom. It’s people’s money but it’s problem with in way that each question is formulated.

She is added: “You create it in left way, Volume. I’m afraid of everything media does it all the time…it drives me crazy.”

Truss was later asked if Boris Johnson’s downfall was prime minister was of own production or someone else’s. Some viewers screamed out saying it’s “media”.

Truss said, “It sounds like you are accused, Tom, and you know, who I disagree with this excellent audience?

Asked to clarify her view, she emphasized that she was “a faithful cabinet minister”, but not directly answer the question by saying, “What’s done is done, and we are where we are.”

Later, speaking about spending commitments and her plans, Truss said: “I believe in Britain, unlike some of in media who choose to speak our country down”.

Newton Dunn replied: “For record, this is the third time you attack media – a lot of of that supports your campaign”.

In the end of debate she was caught on microphone apologizing to Newton Dunn, saying “I’m sorry I was rude to media Tom.

Newton Dunn replied that ridicule media were “cheap”.

Truss was forced to turn around last week on plans cut government salaries outside London after the offers were met with indignation of Conservative deputies. She subsequently accused media of misrepresenting her plans, which led to conservatism former chief whip, Mark Harper, supporter of Rishi Sunak insists that Truss should “Stop blaming journalists.”
