Prototype of the new Lexus electric model will be presented in the spring
Lexus has unveiled a new image of the ‘ concept car ‘that anticipates the new aesthetic identity of the prestigious Toyota brand and promises a new generation of electric vehicles
Taking advantage of the presentation of the annual financial results, the Japanese brand, showed the rear of the next electrified model, which is part of the new vision of the brand that aims to make the leap in terms of vehicle performance, and which marks the beginning of the next generation of Lexus.
The image now revealed shows the rear of the new ‘concept car’, in which the name stands out of the illuminated Japanese brand, beacons arranged horizontally and a bumper of generous dimensions.
It is recalled that in December, Lexus revealed the front of the new model that will count the Direct4 electrical system project for the next generation of vehicles electrified with hybrid technology and 100% electric.
Direct4 precisely controls the torque of the front and rear electric motors, and the braking force on all four wheels. By automatically adjusting the balance of front and rear traction, the system adapts the driving conditions to the driver’s intentions, changing the driving sensation and giving the car the best posture.
This new system of Lexus uses a front e-axle (e-axle) and a rear e-axle, each with a high-torque electric motor, with a focus on the optimal distribution of driving force. As the engine is directly connected to the wheels by a single drive shaft, the operation is fast.
According to the Japanese brand, its operation is intuitive and very responsive, giving the driver the genuine feeling of being fully connected to the vehicle.
“This spring, we will reveal our new vision of the brand, along with a new ‘concept’, which illustrates our intentions for the future and marks the beginning of the next generation of Lexus. In addition, this year, we will launch the first model under our new vision and will continue to present new models next year and beyond ” , underlined Koji Sato, president and brand director of Lexus International.
