Legislature of Indiana passes bill banning most abortions in state

Bill SB1 is now going to Gov. Eric Holcomb, a Republican. who tweeted he was “protector of life” after the U.S. Supreme Court decision beat down Rowe vs. Wade in June.

“We have the opportunity to progress in protection of holiness of life, and that’s what we’re going to do,” he said. added at that time.

Indiana at present allows abortions up up to 20 weeks after fertilization (or 22 weeks after mother’s last menstrual cycle).
