PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on On Thursday, he said that the army commander should being human who had “impeccable reputation”, free from any criticism or doubt.
Maryam made these remarks in press conference outside Islamabad Supreme Court on On Thursday, in response to a question about Defense Minister Khawaji Asif’s comments in which he said that former The name of the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, can be considered for in new army chief.
“If his name is on the precedence of the list will definitely be considered,” Asif said. in interview with BBC.
The PML-N leader was critical of Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid, who served as Chief of ISI from June 16, 2019 to October 19, 2021 and is currently posted as commander of the Peshawar Corps.
Speech at a rally last week in Fateh Jang, Maryam criticized General Hamid referring to Imran Khan’s recent appearance on a podcast where he said that the intelligence chief was “eyes and ears” of in government.
The PML-N leader said: “We know that he was not yours eyes and ears [rather] he was your hands with which you strangled your political opponents”.
In her media speaking today, she said that the army was a respectable institution for country and its people. “People look at the army for unity and security of Pakistan. So it’s important that the commander-in-chief be a man who worthy and blameless, so people salute the Pakistani army.”
Maryam added what was it”good thing” that military decided to stay away from politics and confine themselves to their constitutional role, politicians had something struggle for.
“But there is only one Human who It has problem with This … who used to cheating who has no legs of his own and needs support,” she said. “And this suits him to draw the institutions into politics and make them controversial. It’s just one man, and his name is Imran Khan.”
Maryam also argued that elections should be held, and they are a way out of the crisis.
She said brieflyterm coalition government couldn’t do big decisions. “Nawaz Sharif inherited Pakistan in a bad shape but it got better with time in two or three years. Unfortunately, this temporary installation cannot do that.”
“I just want people do not lure [into backing the opposition] and I want them vote for Nawaz Sharif whenever elections are held,” the PML-N leader said.

She is also criticized Usman Buzdar government in Punjab. “You will find Farah Khan in every department. It was Farah who was in charge of the region, not Usman Buzdar,” she claimed.

Maryam also called out National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for drag and drop out cases against her.
“When NAB was in them [PTI’s] control, they thought they could manipulate us. There were appeals for hearings on daily and fast decisions. But since Imran was fired, NAB knows nothing. They justify themselves at every hearing because they have no evidence.”
She argued that if the NAB had evidence, 10 months would have been long enough to present it to the judges.
Subsequently, the PML-N leader approached the IHC with a request bench and Chief Justice Athar Minallah to stop the “violation of my rights”.
“My honor is at stake when I stand trial. I want ask the court to take note of injustice nab like justice delayed justice rejected.”
