Keanu Reeves doesn’t want to see Neo or John Wick appear in Mortal Kombat
“The movies and the games each do their own thing”
He makes this known while answering fan questions in an Esquire video. He was asked if he’d like to see any of the characters appear in a Mortal Kombat game. “Not if it’s up to me. Mortal Kombat is great, but Neo, John Wick… you know, they do their own thing. Mortal Kombat does its own thing.”
Since both Mortal Kombat and The Matrix from Warner Bros. many fans hoped for a crossover between the game and the film series, with a fourth part set to be released at the end of this year. In addition, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has said in the past that he would like to see Neo and John Wick as guest characters in Mortal Kombat 11. However, he never explained why this didn’t happen. In 2019, he told Game Informer that there was “a good chance” that Neo would appear in Injustice 2, but that also fell through.
Several games based on The Matrix have appeared, in which the character Neo plays a prominent role. Reeves also shines in other games – he has an important role in Cyberpunk 2077, released last year.
