Just stop the oil protesters remain on Top of M25 Dartford junction threatening another day of suburban chaos.

The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge connecting Essex and Kent has been closed after it was climbed by two climbers from a group whose demands are that government “stops everything new licenses and permits for oil and gas”.

“Our government passed suicidal laws to speed up oil production, killing human life and destroying our environment.

“I cant challenge This is madness in my office job is designing bridges, so I’m going direct, occupying the QEII bridge until government stops everything new oil.”

Dartford Junction A282 is the only way cross the Thames to the east of London on the road.

A 1.7 mile southbound QEII bridge and two 0.8 mile northbound tunnels connect Essex and Kent.

A282 also connects directly from both ends with London Ring Road M25, one of busiest in Europe.
