Judge D.Y. Chandrashod is sworn in as CJI on November 9

Judge D.Y. Chandrashod Appointed as Chief Justice of the Fifty of India by President Draupadi Mormo Monday. will swear an oath on November 9, Union Minister Keren Riejo tweeted.

The current CJI, Judge UU Lalit, Chandrachud . recommended his successor last week. Lalit is due to retire on November 8. It will be the judge Chandrachud in office for Two years – until November 10, 2024. Judge Chandrashod fatherJudge YV Chandrachud has also worked at CJI for over 7 years.

Judge Chandrashod graduated in Law from the University of Delhi, receiving his M.Sc. and Ph.D. of Legal Science from Harvard Law School. He practiced law in the High Court and the Bombay High Court and was appointed Senior Advocate by the Bombay High Court in June 1998.
