Chinese billionaire and Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma has vowed to contribute two million protective masks for distribution throughout Europe, with a first consignment arriving in Belgium late on Friday.
A freight airplane packed with 500,000 masks and other medical products such as test packages landed at Liege Airport. The consignment will be sent out to Italy, a joint declaration by the Alibaba and Jack Ma structures, the Belgian area of Wallonia and Liege Airport stated.
More flights are due to get here in the coming days to the airport, which is set to end up being Alibaba’s main European center for e-commerce deliveries.
Ma has also stated he will contribute 500,000 coronavirus screening packages and one million masks to the United States while advising international cooperation to combat the health crisis.
