Iraq has been witnessing continuous protests since October 2019, due to the poor economic conditions and the continuing financial and political corruption, while Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi pledged to fight corruption The improvement of economic conditions.

It is noteworthy that Dhi Qar is one of the most prominent governorates that witnessed continuous protests for more than a year, and in Al-Haboubi Square, hundreds of people were killed and wounded by bullets and smoke bombs during the last period.

Despite government promises to prosecute those involved in these assassinations and killings, which affected dozens of activists since the start of the movement in October 2019, or what is known as the “October Revolution”, no one has yet been arrested.
