US Marshals found and arrested 28-year-Old Jacob Greer in Spanaway, Washington, on Monday. He was on in run since 2016, authorities said.
“Despite the fact that the case was frozen, they did not leave,” Kamachus said.
Greer currently in the Federal Detention Facility in Seattle and will be flown to Des Moines to face trial, the statement said. He will be assigned counsel when he gets back to Iowa, Iowa public defender office said.
Greer was first arrested. in April 2016 Immigration and Customs Enforcement on accusations of supposedly receiving and possession of child pornography. he was released on to tie next days under pre-trial supervision with ankle monitor. He lived with his grandmother in Des Moines of that time.
On May 31, 2016, Greer’s probation officer was alerted that Greer’s ankle monitor had been damaged. removed as a result in The US Marshals said in a statement that an interagency search effort.
Authorities found Greer car with suicide note inside, but searchers never found his body and federal arrest order for Greer was released. Investigators later discovered another vehicle connected with Greer camping in Flathead, Montana he bought with a $1,000 loan from a friend, the statement said.
The US Marshals Service stated that Greer last seen at walmart in Kalispell, Montana, in June 2016 wearing camouflage hat.
Greer allegedly fled Iowa with moneybow, arrows and backpack full of survival gear and had plans to live off Earth in remote areas of Upper western states or southern Canada, hiding out in abandoned cabins,” the statement said.
