Internet outage issue under investigation: PTA – Tech

For its part, PTCL stated that its optical fiber network “experienced some technical problems” due to heavy rains and flooding.

“As a result, PTCL users in northern and central regions facing [an] internet shutdown. Our teams working on restoring services on priority,” the statement said.

In May, internet outages were reported across the country amid rumors that government suspended the service because of protests organized by exiles prime minister Imran Khan.

However, the PTA denied accepting any such decision and explained that the Transworld ISP was facing little degradation.

Prior to this, internet services in Pakistan suffered in February after one of two submarine cables operated by TransWorld were damaged near Karachi.
