Interior Minister Rana Sanaulla warns PTI of strict measures if they try to enter the red zone

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah warned PTI on Wednesday of strict measures against those who try entering the red zone as party announced organize a protest outside election Committee of Pakistan (ECP) tomorrow.

Interior minister released warning during a speech at a press conference with the participation of the Minister of Information Marryum Aurangzeb in federal capital.

Two days ago, PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced holding a peaceful protest outside of ESP on On Thursday, demanding the resignation of Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja.

“PTI wants to wreak havoc in title of protest, interior minister said, saying that coalition government “received reports” and found statements of Khan and Fawad Chaudhry regarding them plans of creating anarchic situation outside election Committee.

He said that they [PTI] Can attack election Committee; however they should remember that the Islamabad High Court imposed restrictions on staged protests in Red zone.

“Protests are strictly prohibited. in Red zone, and if someone tries to enter the area, they should not complain about the consequences of their actions later,” he said, emphasizing that there were several places where PTI could hold a “peaceful protest, since that was everyone’s right.” in democratic era.

Interior minister repeated that no one would be allowed to protest outside ESP will not government let someone take the law into their own hands.

By court order, protests can be held in So parks H9 and F9 complete security will be provided for protesters in designated areas.

He’s next added that the PTI chairman issued call for protest after sentencing of ESP.

“Our request is that the link [filed by the PTI challenging the decision] should to be heard full court,” he said.
