many hardware manufacturers have a say about upcoming product (series)s. The focus is often on the consumer aspect, which for chip manufacturers such as Intel and AMD often comes down to announcements about notebook hardware.
The content of both presentations is nowhere in black and white, but there are certainly persistent expectations. AMD may be unveiling their first Rembrandt-generation laptop APUs (Ryzen 6000), with a possible foray into desktops with the
Radeon RX 6500 and RX 6400 video cards who have recently recurred in rumors.
Intel is an announcement about the Alder Lake -P processors in the offing. The mobile variants of the recently launched twelfth Intel Core -generation should appear sometime in 2022, with at CES 2022 may already have a first appearance of the premium offer.
On the desktop front, Alder Lake-S’s non-K models may be announced . Intel’s new desktop processors are currently only available in overclockable flavors, while the more accessible range should also expand further over the course of 2022.
Given Intel’s scheduled 45-minute length, it’s unlikely that the manufacturer has much to say about
Intel Arc
, the new video card banner. If the subject is still brought up, then there is a good chance that Intel mainly wants to say something about Arc’s mobile GPUs — after all, little or nothing has been announced about that.
In addition to Intel and AMD, a CES 2022 presentation is also expected from Nvidia. The green camp has not yet announced an official schedule, but could schedule an announcement during CES 2022 around the expected
RTX 3050
or any possible Ti model for the RTX 3090.
CES is this time organized both digitally and physically, unlike last year. The actual event will run from January 5-8 and is back to square one in Las Vegas, just like the show was held pre-pandemic.
Both Intel and AMD have their CES 2022 presentation scheduled. AMD will kick off on January 4 from 5 p.m., Intel will start a 45-minute presentation around 7 p.m. AMD has not yet specified an end time.
