PTI CEO Imran Khan has filed an application plea in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday, call of the election commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision disqualify him over what the election observer called his failure correctly take into account for sales proceeds of Toshakhan gifts while he was prime minister.
case will be accepted up IHC Chief Judge Athar Minallah on October 24 (Monday).
Toshakhana is a department under administrative control. of department of the Cabinet of Ministers and stores precious gifts given to rulers, parliamentarians, bureaucrats and officials by the heads of other governments and states and foreign dignitaries.
According to Toshahana rules, gifts/gifts and other materials received by persons to whom these rules the application must be reported to a department of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Imran also demanded a court plea stating that the ECP did not have jurisdiction to decide “any matter of “corrupt practices and disqualification” according to the Electoral Law and Rules of Elections, 2017
Moreover, his plea read: “Announce that [disqualification] the link itself is incompetent, illegal, unlawful and without legal basis, in bad faith and lacking of force as well as in circumstances of this case, declare it null and void and void in interest of justice”.
Meanwhile, plea addedthe court may suspend the operation of at the direction of the EPC and suspend further proceedings on the part of the EPC or at its direction until its order.
ECP, Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) and NA secretary and several members of Lower house of parliament were nominated as respondents in in plea.
Together with this is plealawyer zafar also filed for a hearing of business today. However, the court rejected it plea and scheduled a hearing for October 24th.
Barrister Zafar later confirmed that plea was fixed for on Monday and expressed the hope that decision would be overturned.

Assad Umar hopes IHC will drop ECP decision
Separately, PTI general secretary Asad Umar expressed hope that the ECP verdict would be rejected by the IHC at Monday’s hearing.
” decision is illegal and unconstitutional, but not unexpected since the CCP has become a political ally of DPM and his decisions don’t take on legal basis, but [are aimed at] politically advantageous government and harming PTI,” he said, speaking to media in Islamabad.
Umar said the ECP did nothing but “waste ink” when it issued the decision, adding that the nation already rejected it in yesterday’s protests, as did the IHC.
