Imran Khan challenges ESP verdict of disqualification in IHC – Pakistan

PTI CEO Imran Khan has filed an application plea in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday, call of the election commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision disqualify him over what the election observer called his failure correctly take into account for sales proceeds of Toshakhan gifts while he was prime minister.

ECP, Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) and NA secretary and several members of Lower house of parliament were nominated as respondents in in plea.

Together with this is plealawyer zafar also filed for a hearing of business today. However, the court rejected it plea and scheduled a hearing for October 24th.

Barrister Zafar later confirmed that plea was fixed for on Monday and expressed the hope that decision would be overturned.

Separately, PTI general secretary Asad Umar expressed hope that the ECP verdict would be rejected by the IHC at Monday’s hearing.
