ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court on Notice was sent on Monday secretary of Parliamentary Affairs and requested a response to the petition against appointment of recently elected the president of Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) Dr. Shazia Sobia.
Court of Judge Saman Rifat Amitaz heard the case filed by Muzammil Yassin. Lawyer Muhammad Tayyab appeared at the hearing. in court on on behalf of of in petitioner and asked for a suspension of the notice of 20 September, for appointment of the president of Pakistani Council of Nursing.
petitioner claimed that Shazia Sobia was also parliamentary secretary of Ministry of Health and asked “how Can she hold two positions? He begged the court to ban recently elected president from using public office.
“Recently elected the president is a member of National Assembly from the province of Sindh on reserved seat for women,” he added. He said that the appointment of Dr. Shazia Sobia as president was “illegal and unconstitutional”.
The court adjourned the hearing by sending a notice to the clerk of Parliamentary Affairs.
