ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed the appropriate authorities to supply shelter to the two sisters who married by choice.
The matter was brought to the court after a regional jirga in Lodhran sent to prison the spouse of Malika Fatima, among the sisters.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah, who heard the petition for the security of the two sisters, purchased Islamabad Inspector General of Cops (IGP) Amir Zulfiqar to probe the matter while directing the Senior Superintendent of Cops (SSP) Ghayas Gul to send a report on the security demand made by the ladies on June 10.
Throughout the hearing, the district attorney informed the court that the petitioners come from Punjab, for that reason, the case must be sent out to the particular court. In his reaction, Justice Minallah stated: “If the protection is not being provided in Punjab, should we leave them helpless?”
The court questioned the authorities concerning authorities steps to protect the ladies.
The IHC consequently purchased that both ladies ought to be provided appropriate medical treatment and moved to the shelter home while their case continues in the court.
If anything occurs to ladies and their hubbies, everybody will be accountable, he cautioned.
