IHC hopes PM Imran Khan won’t make ‘secret’ memo public

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday hoped PM Imran Khan would not make a ‘secret’ memo public which, according to government”threatens” the sovereignty of Pakistan.

In a written ruling, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah stated that the court was confident that, as elected prime minister Imran Khan did not disclose any information or act in violation of section 5 of Official Secrets Act of 1923 or violate the oath given to them under the Constitution.

“Any decision adopted by the prime minister should be in consonance with his obligations under the Official Secrets Act 1923 and in letter and spirit of oath of in office”, the written order says.

The court stated that it had “confidence and confidence”so that the prime minister does not reveal information what could be damaging national interest and national honesty of Pakistan, nor what he will act in in any way that would effect of breaking my oath.

The IHC court mentioned that if the court passes restraining order, it “would unfairly reflect the lack of of confidence in en elected prime minister.”

Shortly before the order, Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to sources, said that the Pakistani envoy posted in a foreign country wrote a memo that he flashed on March 27 in rally and called it “menacing”.

Prime interacting with reporters, said the envoy sent a letter to Pakistan after he met en official of foreign country, according to sources.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said the memorandum had been circulated with in military guide, according to sources, and mentioned that the tone used in the cable was “threatening”.

That prime minister said the memorandum would be handed over with parliamentarians during in-camera session noticed that the name of a country that “threatened” Pakistan could not be divided – as national safety laws apply.

Minister for Planning, development and special initiatives Asad Umar, who Attending the briefing, sources said, told reporters that the memo mentions that if there is no confidentiality movement passes, everything will be forgiven. for Pakistan.

Umar further said that the letter mentions that “in case of this failure, problems for Pakistan will grow.”

In his speech on March 27 at the PTI rally prime minister revealed the involvement of “foreign elements” in attempts to overthrow him government and said, “Some of our people”are used in in this respect.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Umar said that PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif joined Arms with foreign powers and participates in “conspiracy” against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
