‘ Hard to tell players and bots in Battlefield 2042’
According to developers of the upcoming shooter Battlefield 2042, human players and bots are barely distinguishable.
That is what design director Justin Wiebe of Ripple Effect Studios – the developer who helps Dice with the game – claims in an interview with VG24/7. “We’ve put a lot of effort into making sure they play like a human would. It’s very hard to tell the difference between an AI and a human player because they run around, ride in vehicles and pick each other up, they drop each other off at key locations and so on – it’s a very intelligent system. Then you can adjust the things they can and cannot do – including the difficulty.”

Bobby Kotick calls Activision Blizzard’s response to allegations tone deaf
Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Activision Blizzard, called the company’s initial response to the toxic work culture allegations “tone deaf”.
He did so in an open letter. “Honestly, our initial reactions to the issues we need to work on together were tone deaf.” In the letter, he says that law firm WilmerHale has been called in to analyze the company’s working methods in order to “promote a respectful and inclusive workplace”. The publisher “continues to investigate any claim and will not hesitate to take decisive action”. In addition, in the letter, he promises to fire anyone “who interferes with the integrity of our process to evaluate the claims”.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits postponed to September 21
The game was actually planned for a 2020 release, but was postponed to early 2021 last year. Ultimately, the release date was set for August 24, but that also appears to be unfeasible.
“We made the difficult decision to buy Kena : Delay Bridge of Spirits to September 21 to perfect the game across all platforms,” said developer Ember Lab. “The team works extremely hard and we think the extra time is essential to deliver the best possible experiences.”

About five hundred current and former Ubisoft employees have signed an open letter asking for “fundamental changes” within the publisher.
This is in response to recent developments within publisher Activision Blizzard and allegations that came out last year about similar practices within Ubisoft. There would be a toxic work culture within both companies, where women and minorities would be disadvantaged and sexually harassed. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and Activision CEO Bobby Kotick have publicly apologized and pledged to work for change.
