Tributes have been paid father who died after being rescued children caught in whirlpool on the beach in Wales.
Hywel Morgan, 47, helped save group of children who got into difficulty in water at Poppit Sands, St. Dogmaels, in Pembrokeshire.
Dyfed Powys police reported that air At about 8:40 pm, an ambulance arrived at the scene. on Friday.
BUT force the spokesman said: “Unfortunately, despite best efforts of emergency services, local resident Hywel Morgan died after being pulled from the sea.”
Two children were taken to the hospital for checks after the incident.
Tribute was given to Mr. Morgan who was described as “devoted and loving father”.
In his statement family said: “Hugh was a hero. Despite our pain and grief, it gives us consolation in the fact that he selflessly tried to prevent the death of others.
“Hugh was a selfless man who always gave up its time for other. He was devoted and loving father and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
“How family would we be now like it’s time to mourn and beg for Confidentiality in what to do”.
