Hayley Williams: ‘A lot of my depression was misplaced anger’

Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams has actually pertained to understand her depression was brought on by “misplaced anger”.

The star discussed her fight with psychological health concerns throughout an interview with The Guardian, and admitted one of her “biggest healing moments” came when she resolved the root of the concern.

“One of my biggest healing moments was realising that a lot of my depression was misplaced anger,” she shared. “I really forced it inward, on myself, and it made me feel shame all the time.”

Hayley mused that a person of her earliest memories, of the battle that prompted her young moms and dads’ divorce, played a critical role in her later years.

“They were kids,” she stated. “They made a mistake. It’s not really something to be angry at. But when I did some therapy, I realised I was four years old and I thought it was my fault.”

The Airplanes hitmaker consequently found out to transport the anger favorably, and found taking ownership of her feelings “helped me understand things that happened throughout my life that weren’t right.”

The star added that getting in touch with her musical peers and forming Paramore provided her the family she “always wanted”.

Hayley is now starting a solo music profession, with her record Petals for Armor dropping in May.
