Har expected in Kabul to ‘strengthen relations’

ISLAMABAD: Hina Rabbani Khar, Deputy Foreign Minister arrive in capital of Afghanistan of Kabul on Tuesday on a delicate trip to a neighboring country, the reports said, citing sources.

She will be lead delegation, which is expected to be of senior members of administration, with to strengthen the diplomatic and trade ties.

According to diplomatic sources, minister will also hold meetings with Prime Minister Hassan Akhund and Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki.

Since the takeover by the Taliban power in August last year his connection with Islamabad deteriorated due to border clashes and spike in cross-border attacks by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Islamabad repeatedly asked the Taliban to leave support to elements that have been widely reported to operating freely within a war-torn country.

The experts believe group, instead of providing any strategic advantage or contributing to the security of Pakistan has become a worrying thorn in Islamabad side.

And because of it is an old alliance between group and Islamabad, which dates back back to emergence of Taliban in southern Afghanistan in mid-1990s, is under unprecedented strain as their interests diverge.
