AT government plans launch solar power projects of about 14,000 megawatts this year as an alternative energy source costly electricity is generated using imported fuel, under an initiative that includes reduced Prices for Solar systems along with tax incentives.

AT prime minister sent the authorities concerned carry out integrated planning for early execution of solar projects. He named for giving priority to Balochistan in security of solar systems across the country.

Earlier at the meeting, information was presented on solar projects as an alternative costly power projects. It was reported that government will launch solarization projects of about 14,000 megawatts per next a few months.

outside of these, solar projects of about 9000 MW will be realized on priority, officials said at the meeting. As part of the initiative, they stated that solar systems will be provided not only in reduced prices but also receive tax benefits.

AT prime minister said alternative energy policy introduced by the previous Imran Khan under the leadership government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2020 failed not only produce required results but also to attract investments in sector.

The prime minister appealed to the commission of inquiry for early introduction of report on suspension of power projects during the PTI government tenure. He also requested a detailed report on in amount obtained as fuel price adjustment of electricity bills.
