GOG: 'We will not tolerate review bombing'

The platform GOG says it will not tolerate ‘review bombing’ after controversy surrounding Hitman Game of the Year Edition.
GOG came in this week discredited when it launched the game and revealed that players need to be online to play certain aspects like Ilusive Targets and Escalation missions. With that it is possible to earn new weapons and equipment.Although GOG owner CD Projekt Red promises to offer all games on the platform DRM-free , it warned players that Hitman Game of the Year Edition does, in part, require it to be online. According to some users, that warning did not appear, resulting in massive bad reviews about the game.“Thank you for bringing this topic to your attention”, says a spokesperson for GOG in a comment. “We’re looking into it and we’ll give you an update in the next week. If you’ve bought Hitman and you’re not satisfied, you can cancel the purchase.

While we are open to feedback and discussion, we do not tolerate review bombing and will remove posts that do not meet our review guidelines.”

The spokesperson clarifies that it is not removes reviews that provide new information relative to the product page.
