In yet another leak surrounding AMD’s new Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards, Gigabyte has again spoken too soon. Two designs of cards that AMD has never officially announced were revealed on the Spanish Twitter account of subsidiary brand Aorus. The tweet was deleted a few hours later.
Gigabyte’s first two RX 6600 XT graphics cards appear to mirror design choices of more expensive cards. The Eagle version seems to be a thinner video card, at the height of two slots, a Gaming variant tends more to two and a half slots high. Both cards show off three fans, though AMD is expected to upgrade the card itself with only one fan supplies.
Aorus Spain spoke of “incredible 1080p gaming performance”, in line with expectations of AMD’s new budget offering. The first top models addressed 4k resolutions and the newer RX 6700 XT scaled back to 1440p — the lower-priced RX 6600 (XT ) should therefore focus on 1080p. Previous, persistent specs rumors underlined that assumption already, but Gigabyte is the first to pronounce it ‘officially’. Meanwhile, AMD is tight-lipped about the existence of a Radeon RX 6600 (XT) desktop card. Originally, AMD Radeon’s new budget model should have launched as early as the first half of 2021.
