GDA MNA refuses to transfer their salary to PM Fund for flood victims

Saira Bano, Member of National Assembly (MNA) and spokesman for The Sindh Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) refused to donate it. one-monthly salary to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund set up for in flood-affected people saying they don’t trust government.

In a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, she said:
she would prefer give in money for charity like AlKhidmat
Fund or Joint.

She wrote that these days the country is facing with severe floods in
history of disaster victims in need of urgent assistance and
rehabilitation. “Although various charitable organizations are turning to people
for donations, only time will tell if these amounts were spent in a
transparent,” she said, and added”I found out that you, Mr.
Speaker deducted one-monthly salary of each MNA for depositing it in in
prime minister’s Fund without consulting him or her. And even the Fund was
set up in haste; excluding all parliamentary parties on board. This
certainly raises questions. over transparency of the whole process”.

Saira went on to add What was it up to each parliamentarian to donate money
to organization of his or her choice. “Consequently, instead of deposit
my one-monthly salary in in prime minister of the Fund, I will ask you equally
distribute it between Al-Khidmat and the Joint, and I will receive his receipt.” she is
wrote.

Later talking to news agency, she confirmed that she had written a letter
