Full double decker bus destroyed’ after fire on A31 at Stony Cross

DOUBLE-DECKER city red bus was left fully destroyed after being caught fire on A31 on Saturday evening.

The bus engulfed in flames was filmed by Echo reader Laura Aubin after the incident. shut main road calling seven miles of tails.

Hampshire Police tweeted: “Closing in place on A31 eastbound opposite Stoney Cross due to bus fire, one lane is open in about 40 minutes. Upgrades to follow.”

Laura said: (There is) a red city double deck bus on fire on A31 at Stoney Cross.

“There are many of secured traffic up as well as people out of them vehicles.”

Police closed the road to traffic as crews dealt with the incident fire.

The police confirmed that there were no casualties. fire was out by 20:00.

After clearing the road one the lane was open by 9 pm.
