Ni Amorim wants to meet the conditions for the Portuguese GP to have the presence of an audience

The president of Portuguese Federation of Motorsport and Karting (FPAK) took this Friday its satisfaction for the confirmation of the accomplishment of the GP of Portugal of Formula 1 , on 02 May, trusting that the test will be able to continue in the future.

“FPAK is very satisfied since, when there was the last GP in Portugal, in 2020, we always said that we were going to fight so that the race was not just a substitution, but was in its own right in the World Formula calendar 1 “ , underlined Ni Amorim, in statements to« Agência Lusa ».

Ni Amorim acknowledged that he worked, “ together with the Government, in conjunction with the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), so that conditions could be met for there to be a Grand Prix in 2021 “.

In this way the circuit of Portimão will once again host the F1 GP of Portugal, which will be the third round of the new season, in what will be the 18th edition of the Portuguese World Championship.

“The hardest is done. Now it is important to gather the conditions to have an audience. Portugal is in a difficult economic situation and events like Formula 1 will be very important for a region that thrives on tourism “ , stressed Ni Amorim

For the president of FPAK, Portugal has conditions to remain on the World Cup calendar for years to come.

“There is no reason why in the following years Portugal cannot be part of the calendar” , concluded Ni Amorim.
