El Salvador begins mining Bitcoin with geothermal energy from its volcanoes

Mining Bitcoin (BTC) with geothermal energy from volcanoes is already a reality in El Salvador. President Nayib Bukele shared, this Tuesday, September 28, a video showing the installation of a container with dozens of ASIC equipment in the Berlin geothermal field, in Usulután.

In The message, spread through Twitter, the head of state only limited himself to saying “ first steps ” or “first steps” in Spanish. It is not clear what is the number of miners willing by the Salvadoran government, the model of the equipment or the overall processing capacity they possess.

The installation of Bitcoin miners in the country and the use of geothermal energy from volcanoes have been two of Bukele’s watchwords to boost digital mining. The first president is a faithful believer in the potential of bitcoin as a tool that would serve to attract investments, improve the economy of his country and minimize commissions for sending remittances.
