SARGODA: Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas assumed the duties of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sargodha on Saturday. Before current job, he worked with Asian Development Bank.
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas has been appointed UoS Vice Chancellor on regular the foundation for Period of four years through a notice issued by the Punjab Department of Higher Education “No. SO (Univ.) 5-1 / 2018. VOLUME-III dated 10.09.2022.”
Dr. Abbas received his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Nankai University of Tianjin, PRC, in May 2000 He performed post-doctoral research at Cardiff Business School (UK) in September 2007. He also has a master’s degree and a master’s degree in philosophy in Economics of Islamabad Quaid-e-Azam University. Worked as dean of the faculty of Business Administration at COMSATS Islamabad University (CUI) and Director of CUI campus in Lahore. Over the years he assumed various CUI duties including Provost, Convener of Campus Selection Committee, Convening Council of Research of Management Sciences and Convening Council of Faculties of Business administration and board member of Governor UI in Pakistan.
Dr. Abbas has produced numerous research issues, including 38 publications in national as well as international journals, nine conference proceedings, and seven conference presentations. Dr. Abbas also completed two research projects funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and CUI. Five students defended their doctoral dissertations. working under his direction. He played an important role in launch international research magazine “South Asian magazine of Global Business Research, published by Emerald Publications. He took an active part in number organization of international master classes/seminars/conferences/forums.
